The article concerns the development of youth extreme sports subcultures. It presents a study conducted with the help of survey techniques (questionnaires, electronic profile on a social network vk.com, interviews with leaders of extreme sports subcultures), the analysis and synthesis of scientific literature, experimental search work, pedagogical observation, and mathematical statistics applied to the representatives of extreme sports such as BMX, skateboarding, street workout, parkour, and roller sports.
In the course of the research the analysis of the genesis of extreme sports and the dynamics of their development in the Tyumen region was carried out. In the article the problems hindering the active development of extreme sport subcultures are identified, in particular, the lack of qualified trainers and coaches and specialized sports facilities for extreme sports in residential areas. The article focuses on the dynamics of extreme sports development in the Tyumen region, and the methods of management and development of extreme sports in the United States, European countries and Russia.
