The problem of realization of the all-Russian sports complex “Ready for Labor and Defense” in the educational institutions of the country takes a significant part of scientific and practical research in the last three years. Insufficient physical culture and sports activity of young people and the lack of interest among the administration of higher education institutions in providing optimal conditions for physical culture and sport contributed to the decline of the students’ health level.
The authors highlight the cultural, educational, civic and Patriotic, health-forming, educational, motivational, incentive, and controlling functions of the restored complex “Ready for Labor and Defense”. The novelty of the research is in building models and procedures for this complex’s implementation at the university based on the environmental approach. That will allow realizing individual educational trajectory for students and influencing their educational results indirectly through the construction of physical-sport environment based on the enrichment of the content and forms of educational and extracurricular work on physical education students.
The key idea is a) providing the educational environment of the university in the process of pedagogical interaction; and b) the search and coordination “of stable relations and relations between the system of values and goals of students and the system of values cultivated in the sports and sports environment”. The authors’ model is implemented in the University of Tyumen on the basis of the principles of integrity, freedom of choice, and natural law. The experiment has proven that the introduction of the original model has improved the health status and physical condition of students, expanded the range of their sports needs and motives, and created a positive attitude towards the complex “Ready for Labor and Defense”.
