Abstract:

The research is devoted to the consideration of some details of the mythological picture of the world reflected in the dialect of the Russian settlers living at the territory of Azerbaijan from the first third of the 19th century. The analysis was carried out on the basis of “A lexicon of the Russian island dialect of Azerbaijan” published in 2014. The dictionary is compiled on the materials of the card file including lexicon, collected since the beginning of the 1950s during the dialectological expeditions to Russian villages in Azerbaijan (more than 20 villages). The author pays attention to such issue as the “demonologization” of a disease. As a result of the analysis 47 names of diseases have been revealed. The article provides some examples illustrating the usage of the lexemes.
