This article presents the experience of dealing with the tasks of children and youth moral upbringing by the means of physical education and sports in the Yamal centre. It reviews the foreign experience of adapting sport and wellness activities to various social classes. Presented are Russian concepts and innovative technologies of children and youth physical education. The capacity of employing various physical education and training forms in the mass sports activities management on the municipal level is shown as set by example of the Children and Youth Moral Upbringing Centre. The characteristic of the activities of the Centre is presented via the key areas: in the education centre, in the centre of continuing education, and sports and wellness area. It is shown that the proposed forms of sport and wellness activity organization provide the schoolchildren with a wide variety of physical activity types ranging from recreational activities (such as fitness) to extreme sports (such as alpinism).
Based on two-year research, the importance of physical education and sports in developing social qualities of children and youth is shown, positive shift in the centre disciples' physical education level is brought to light, the increase in the number of children regularly performing physical exercises as well as the decrease in the number of adolescents with harmful habits are noted.
