Abstract:

A comparative study of phonetics of the Russian language and Shantung dialect of the Chinese language in terms of the methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language to Chinese students is undertaken in the article. The authors refer to the systemic description of segmental and suprasegmental phonetic units of the Chinese language, making a conclusion on the absence of complete equivalence with the phonetic units of the Russian language and the presence of a number of lacunas in the phonetic system of the Chinese language in comparison with the Russian language. Further more, the authors give an example of experimental phonetic research of Russian speech production process by Chinese pupils, who just began learning Russian, and Chinese students with more advanced skills.

In conclusion, authors state that the formation of Russian phonetic skills by Chinese students is important, and learning cannot take place by transliteration of the Chinese language.
