The article is devoted to the main components of foreign language cross-cultural communicative competence in humanities and its conceptual psychological and pedagogical socio-cultural bases. It reveals the specifi cs of knowledge, skills and personal behavioural characteristics, which determine the quality of cross-cultural communication competence in this area. It analyses Russian and foreign pedagogical models and teaching methods in cross-cultural communication. The article deals with new methods and technologies to form cross-cultural competence. The integration of linguistic, communicative, socio-cultural competence in professional-oriented education with regard to human anthropocentric and cultural-specifi c values is proposed here.Keywords:
