The article considers the issue of language-and-communication process
through viewing and understanding both linguistics and philosophy.
Implementing the above mentioned descriptive and comparative methods as well
as the methods of text interpretation and worldview conceptualization, allowed us to
get to the concept-and-situation approach in linguistic and philosophical rendering
The research work demonstrated expedience of the cognitive aspect in understanding
of communication acts and the texts (discourse) as interpretation on the basic level
of the conceptual system, when a text is simply apprehended by an interpreter even on
the level of concepts comprising the opinion system being a part of the concept system,
and on the level of concepts that form the subjective knowledge system as a part
of the opinion system.
Hence, to understand means to render, but not necessarily to consider as truthful
and to know. To know means to consider as truthful. Thus, the understanding and
knowledge degree of a person could be defined via the specific conceptual system and
components of the cognitive basic systems of knowledge and opinion.
Intentionality as reference of intentional states to the definite concept system is
a natural, universal and essential feature of any communication act.
The research results could be applied in cognitive linguistics, translation theory
and translation practice.
