Abstract:The author relating the issues of ecolinguistics and language norms to the phenomenon of the discursive cynicism points out a certain paradox. The analysis of the texts that belong to different communicative and functional spheres has revealed that discursive cynicism, being a mode of a natural behavior, is determined both culturally and epistemologically, that is this phenomenon is caused by the social imperfections of certain periods.
