Abstract:

The article is concerned with the views of the Russian historians on the I.I. Lubimenko-discovered project of the English acquisition of Northern Russia and, presumably, the Volga region. These views were heavily impacted by the political climate in the country and mostly convey the traditional interpretations of the state of affairs in Russia in the inter-reign years.
