Abstract:

The article discusses the problem of railway construction in the Urals and in Western Siberia in 1956–1991. The new technologies of transport construction in the regions with unfavourable natural and climatic conditions are investigated in the article. The author makes a conclusion on the importance of constructed railways for North development.
