The author of four books and study guides, more than 30 articles, research in the field of American political development and a journal of interdisciplinary history. He has two Fulbright awards and scientific grants from the American Philosophical Society, the American Council of Academic Societies, the Russell Sage Foundation, the Lyndon Baines Johnson Foundation and the Twentieth Century Foundation.
