Abstract:

The article analyzes the main elements of teacher's social and professional portrait. The paper evaluates the dynamics of the pedagogical profession prestige; studies the socio-economic problems relevant to the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District residents; assesses teachers' satisfaction with individual aspects of life; analyses the amount of school teachers' free time and what they do during it.

The article establishes the relationship between the dynamics of teachers' health and the terms of their residence in the Far North. The respondents have assassed the level of their families' financial situation and the social stratification of teachers. The type of Yamal teachers' housing and its convenience have been analyzed. The assessment of the quality of teachers' life was based on the empirical data of sociological research "Social and professional portrait of teachers", conducted in 2016 among the teachers of general education institutions of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District.
