The article raises the issue of the necessity of research of constitutionally-legal mechanisms to implement the national idea in the Russian Federation as a state ideology aimed at a steady development of Russia as a sovereign, legal, and socially important state. On the basis of formal-legal analysis of the fundamental constitutional norms, the author determines the vector of further development of Russian society, points out the aims and tasks of the Russian Federation. The author views the phenomenon of patriotism as a single uniting idea of the development of Russian society. It is aimed to strengthen the civil activity and to form civil-democratic institutions. The author grounds the necessity to fix the national idea within the legal status.
