Urban plantation, adjacent to school grounds, when used properly as a means of learning can become an educational environment that forms the basics of ecological culture in primary school children. This seems to be the relevance of the theme stated by the author of the article. The author describes the main types of urban plants in Tyumen based on the known classification: parks, boulevards and public gardens. The features of their location in relation to the general educational institutions are analyzed, the data are tabulated. The places to take nature study excursions — the main form of environmental education in primary school students — are listed. The results of an experimental study are given: survey, tests carried out in 2009 and 2012 on the basis of 4 forms of school number 70 of Tyumen. The results of an experimental study are shown in the table and charts. Based on the results of the study, the author makes conclusions, highlights the main problems and suggests their solutions.References:
