A gas generator and a centrifugal supercharger driven by a free turbine represent kinematically open mechanical system. The gas generator itself is a kinematically closed system, since the compressor and turbine are located on the same shaft, but its connection to the supercharger is purely gas-dynamic. This determines the specificity of the mathematical model of this unit, which allows its diagnostics to be carried out using non-destructive testing methods; in particular, the calculation of the supercharger drive power is possible only by measuring the rotation frequencies of the gas generator and the free turbine separately and simultaneously. The purpose of this work is to construct the dependence of power on these frequencies based on the processing of experimental data from the passport provided by the manufacturer. This dependence allows us to derive a dimensionless diagnostic parameter that has a physical meaning similar to the efficiency of a gas pump unit, and the deviation of its value from that which characterizes the normal (standard) operating mode of the unit is a sign of the development of an emergency situation. Keywords:
