Abstract:

Domanic type deposits in the Volga-Ural oil and gas province are of great interest to researchers. The main reason for this interest is that there is still no optimal set of laboratory tests, and there are no unified methods or standards. These rocks are characterized by low filtration and capacity properties and a significant amount of organic matter in their pore space. The purpose of this study is to investigate the reservoir space of domanic type deposits in order to determine the boundary cut-offs of oil and bound water on core samples using a combination of petrophysical and geochemical studies. The work defines individual and average boundary cut-offs on core samples of domanic type deposits for the separation of heavy oil, light oil, and bound water. The averaged cut-offs are applied for the interpretation of NMR. The data obtained on logging are well correlated with the results obtained on the core.
