This paper presents a numerical study of the heterogeneity effect of reservoir properties on the processes of migration and accumulation of oil. We analyze the heterogeneity of porosity, absolute permeability, relative permeability, and pressure difference in phases. A two-dimensional geological model is used; in each calculation only one parameter is heterogenetic. The software package developed by the authors is the research tool. The results of calculations and the analysis are provided. It has been found that the heterogeneity of pressure difference in phases may lead to a tilted “economic” oil-water contact.
