Scientific interests are related to the mechanics of multiphase systems. He discovered a number of physical phenomena and effects during wave propagation in two-phase media (bubbly liquids, gas suspensions, saturated porous media) and solved a number of actual gas-dynamic problems that have important applications in the nuclear power industry, pipeline transport of liquefied gas, protection of structures from the effects of an explosion, exploration and oil and gas production, ecology.
