Abstract:

The article deals with the macroeconomic aspect of the concept "human capital". The authors of the article analyze the development of this category in economics as there is prevalence of microeconomic analysis in research on this topic. Human capital is regarded not only as an integral part of national wealth, but also as part of the system of social reproduction of abilities' reserve and skills of people, as well as income-generating investments. The analysis of the structure of human capital, highlighted in the article, is of practical importance, since the authors of the article justify the use of various forms of influence on the quality and development of human capital, depending on the nature and characteristics of its structural components. It is important to determine the objectives of formation and development of human capital in the areas of education, health and culture. State participation in the formation of human capital requires the analysis of involvement of state institutions in the system of social reproduction of abilities and skills of individuals. Currently, a special emphasis in the reproduction of human capital at the macro level should be put on the formation of institutions, ensuring the development of human capital.
