The article is devoted to the modern features of the functioning of the Russian market of personal insurance. Personal insurance is regarded as the institution of the implementation of the functions of the state for the social protection of population. The author describes the main evolutionary changes in personal insurance. The maximum zone of mutual interest of the state and insurers in pension and health insurance is established. It is feared that there will be social tension in the society is the pension reform goes the way of increasing the retirement age and social taxes. Current domestic modernization of compulsory health insurance has led to the centralization of resources and the loss of their insurance nature. Availability of health services is appraised and associated with the development of the corporate medical insurance. The expert assessment of the risks of the Russia’s becoming a member of the WTO is given. The World Trade Organization is considered as an institution to promote competition. The given empirical data testify to the absence of the foreign insurers high ranking positions in the Russian market. The author relates particular expectations to the taking a megaregulator into the financial management area and allotting with function to the Bank of Russia, that will influence stress resistance of insurers positively.References:
