Abstract:

The article is devoted to the analysis of the retrospective development and the current features of the functioning of banks with foreign capital in Russia. The influence of legal and economic determinants on the transformation of the activities of banks with foreign investments in Russia at present is investigated.The analysis reveals the dependence of the quantity and quality characteristics of banks with foreign capital in Russia on the national and world economiesconditions, the policy of the state, territorial diversification strategy and business development activities of the credit organizations understudy. Evaluation of banks with foreign capital in Russia in modern conditions shows that they have become full members in the banking sector, perform intermediary function in Russiaactively, serving both corporate and private clients and have a stabilizing effect on the national banking system.
