The Kyrgyz Republic is located in the center of Eurasia, 3,000 km away from the closest ocean. The Republic’s total square is about 198,500 km2. Altitudes change from 410 to 7,439 m above the sea level.
Based on the studies of the material kept in Herbarium of the flora laboratory at the Institute for Biology and Pedology, National Aсademy of Sciences (FRU), this article presents a synopsis of the genus Bromus L. (Poaceae) in the Kyrgyz Republic’s flora with a key (for species identification) and short quotations. Seven species are recognized in the Republic. Bromus pseudodanthoniae Drobow is reported for the first time. The author provides maps of distribution for species growing in Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the list of the studied specimens. Bromus lanceolatus Roth species is excluded from the Republic’s flora list.
