In the Northern part of Siberian spruce areal on the territory of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YNAO) at high and average yield of spruce cones a different number of full seeds may form even in the areas located close to each other, but is always dominated by empty seeds. Full seeds on different spots have approximately the same mass of 1,000 pieces (3.3-3.9 g), but different germination (from 13-15% to 60%). Seeds with high germination germinate faster, the duration of the period germination is less than the seeds with low germination. There has been an increase in seed germination (by 12-15%) with an increase in their weight from 3 to 4 and 5-6 g in batch of seeds with high germination. In the North-East (Taz) of the habitat observed increased number of cotyledons (6-9 pcs.) in seedlings, compared to the lower reaches of the river Polui, in the Western part of YNAO (from 4-5 up to 9 pcs.).
