Dr. Sci. (Biol.), Professor. Head of the Department of Zoology and Evolutionary Ecology of Animals of the University of Tyumen.
Member of the Dissertation Council D 999.114.02 at the Northern Trans-Ural State Agricultural University (ecology). Member of the Academic Meeting of the Tyumen Region, Commission for Rare Species of the Tyumen Region Administration. He was awarded with the Honorary Diplomas of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment of the Russian Federation (2005), the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (2010) and the Tyumen Region Governor (2005). Also he was awarded with the medals names of Vladimir Vernadsky (silver) and Nikolai Vavilov of the Russian Academy of Natural History, the order "LABORE ET SCIENTIA – LABOR AND KNOWLEDGE".
Author of 450 scientific publications, incl. 8 in international citation systems Web of Science and Scopus ("Conservation biology", "Contemporary Problems of Ecology", and other) (h-index in the Russian Science Citation Index 20). 15 monographs and 15 teaching aids, 3 of them with a stamp of the Educational-Methodical Association, and one of them was awarded with a small gold medal of the Siberian Fair UCHSIB-2004 (Teaching in Siberia) in the nomination "modern textbook", teaching aid "Summaries of lectures on system ecology" awarded with a diploma of the competition of the Fund for the Development of National Education for the best scientific book of 2007.
